Costruire con la Terra, Progettare il Futuro: Auroville incontra l’Italia
La nostra giornata ad Auroville si è conclusa con un incontro speciale all’Auroville Earth Institute, dove abbiamo avuto il piacere di incontrare Radhika e il suo straordinario team.
Un luogo dove tradizione, innovazione e sostenibilità si incontrano attraverso l’architettura.
L’Earth Institute è un centro internazionale di ricerca e formazione dedicato alle tecnologie costruttive in terra: dai Compressed Stabilised Earth Blocks (CSEB) alla terra battuta, dagli archi alle volte e alle cupole. Qui la terra, materiale antico e naturale, diventa materia per progettare il futuro.
Durante l’incontro abbiamo esplorato nuove possibilità di collaborazione tra Auroville e l’Italia, coinvolgendo studenti di architettura, ricercatori e professionisti in percorsi di ricerca, formazione, tirocinio e scambio.
Per noi, architettura significa anche questo: imparare dai luoghi, dalle persone e dalle conoscenze che li abitano, per immaginare nuovi modi di costruire e di vivere.
Questo incontro è un passo importante verso il nostro Integral Education and Sustainable Growth Programme, che verrà rilanciato a settembre.
Un grazie speciale a Radhika e a tutto il team dell’Auroville Earth Institute per l’accoglienza e per la disponibilità a costruire insieme nuove connessioni.

Building with Earth, Designing the Future: Auroville Meets Italy
Our day in Auroville came to an inspiring close with a visit to the Auroville Earth Institute, where we had the pleasure of meeting Radhika and her wonderful team.
A place where tradition, innovation and sustainability come together through architecture.
The Earth Institute is an international centre for research and training in earth-based building technologies — from Compressed Stabilised Earth Blocks (CSEB) to rammed earth, arches, vaults and domes. Here, earth — one of humanity’s oldest building materials — becomes a powerful material for designing the future.
During our meeting, we explored new opportunities for collaboration between Auroville and Italy, involving architecture students, researchers and professionals through research, training, internships and exchange.
For us, architecture is also about learning from places, people and the knowledge they carry — and using that knowledge to imagine new ways of building and living.
This meeting marks another important step towards our Integral Education and Sustainable Growth Programme, launching in September.
